The Andersen is a family-owned retreat in the Texas Hill Country, built on land that has meant something to the Andersen family for generations, and now open to guests who are looking for the same sense of place.
Set in the heart of the Brazos Valley, The Andersen is defined as much by the land as it is by what has been built upon it.
The property unfolds across gently rolling hills beneath an expansive Texas sky, where the sense of openness is immediate and calming. There’s a natural rhythm here you feel right away—mornings arrive softly over the fields, and evenings settle into long, golden light that seems to linger just a little longer than expected.
Native pecan and oak trees are scattered throughout the landscape, some standing for generations, grounding the property with a quiet sense of history. Open pastures stretch beyond them, where grazing cattle and the movement of the breeze through the trees give life to the land without ever disturbing its stillness.
What makes this place special isn’t just its beauty—it’s the feeling it creates. The land has been thoughtfully preserved, allowing its natural character to lead. There’s space to breathe, room to wander, and a calm that comes naturally. It’s a setting that invites you to slow down, take it in, and stay just a little longer.
Each building takes its name from a Texas river-a quiet nod to the landscape that surrounds it.
What is now The Andersen began as a simple idea more than twenty years ago.
In 2002, we purchased this land from a third-generation farming family. At the time, Scott had
visions of a lake house—but Kim had a different idea. She saw something more in this open
land, something that could grow into a place where family and friends could gather. Thankfully,
she was right.
Over the years, this property became a constant in our lives. Our children spent weekends out
here exploring, running free, and making memories that still shape our family today. We hosted
friends, celebrated milestones, and slowly fell in love with what this land represented—space to
breathe, to connect, and to be together.
In 2020, that vision expanded with the creation of Deep in the Heart Farms. What started as a
personal place quickly became something we could share with others—hosting weddings and
celebrations that are now part of so many families’ stories.
The Andersen is the next chapter.
We created it to give guests more time here—more time to slow down, to celebrate, and to enjoy
everything this property has to offer. It’s a place where a wedding weekend doesn’t feel rushed,
where mornings begin with coffee and quiet, and evenings end with friends gathered close.
This is truly a family business. Each of us has played a role in bringing The Andersen to life, and
that makes it especially meaningful to us.
Our hope is simple: that your time here feels easy, memorable, and worth lingering over.
Whether you’re here for a wedding, a celebration, or just a weekend away, we hope you leave
with the same feeling we’ve had from the beginning—that this is a special place meant to be
shared.
